Phantom Edges: 25 secondary weapons
Facts checked 2026-10-28
Phantom Edges are the 25 secondary weapons: bows, hand cannons, axes and hammers with limited uses between rests. They are boss drops as often as finds, and they exist to solve one problem each.
Phantom Edges are the secondary half of your arsenal: 25 weapons (S-GAME's copy says "more than 20") that live outside the two primary blade slots. They are bows, hand cannons, axes, hammers and one very large mask, and they have limited uses between rests rather than unlimited swings.
That limitation is the design. A Phantom Edge is a solution you spend, not a weapon you main. The weapon database covers the blades; this page covers everything you press when a blade is the wrong answer.
What makes them different
| Trait | Phantom Edge | Primary weapon |
|---|---|---|
| Uses | Limited between rests | Unlimited |
| Damage profile | Burst, area or utility | Sustained |
| Acquisition | Boss drops, optional levels | Story and optional levels |
| Upgrade | Yes, with Tempering | Yes, to level 30 |
| Trophy role | Temper 10 and level one to 30 | Level one to 30 |
Both slots are usable in combat and can be switched on the fly. They do not share the primary swap cooldown, so an edge is often the thing you press while waiting for a blade swap to come back.
The documented arsenal
Seven edges have been shown in detail; the rest of the 25 are found in play. Where the function is confirmed, it is listed; where only the name is documented, the name is all this page will claim.
| Edge | Type | Documented function |
|---|---|---|
| Tiger Cannon | Hand cannon | Blasts a group; the obvious answer to clustered enemies |
| Flaming Mane | Mask | Projects fire from a giant mask; area denial |
| Bashpole | Pole / heavy | Heavy, slow strikes; dropped by Wan Jun "Coppermaul" |
| Savage Axe | Axe | Heavy axe strike for armour and posture |
| Night Owl | Ranged | Shown in the arsenal; ranged harassment |
| Man-Cutter | Blade-type | Shown in the arsenal; close-range finisher |
| Ink Cut | Blade-type | Shown in the arsenal; quick cut |
S-GAME has also shown an edge that summons a small group of warriors to fight alongside Soul for a short time. That one is the exception to the "spend one burst" rule: it changes the shape of a fight rather than adding a hit.

When to slot an edge
Slot for the problem, not for the damage number.
- Crowded rooms: Tiger Cannon or any area option. Clearing three enemies with one use is worth more than a slightly stronger single hit.
- Bosses that punish approach: a bow-type edge lets you keep pressure while you wait for a pattern you can parry.
- Posture-heavy fights: axes and hammers add posture damage, which shortens the distance to a break.
- Summons: if a fight has adds, the summon edge turns a 1v3 into a 2v3.
Upgrade and trophy notes
Phantom Edges upgrade like weapons and can be Tempered. Two trophies depend on it: A Tempered Ten asks for Tempering on ten weapons, and Phantom Arsenal asks for Tempering on ten Phantom Edges. Skill Over Strength wants one edge at level 30.
That means the efficient route is to level one edge you actually use and Temper the rest as you find them, rather than spreading materials. The trophy page lists the requirements in order.
FAQ
Do Phantom Edges run out permanently?
No. Uses refresh when you rest. The limit is per excursion, not per save.
Can I equip two of the same edge?
You have two edge slots, and the game expects two different tools. Duplicates are not the intended build and add nothing.
Are edges required to beat bosses?
No, but several fights are much shorter with the right one. The axe and hammer options exist because some enemies have posture that blades chip slowly.
Which edge should I upgrade first?
The one you use most, usually a ranged option. Ranged edges are useful in every fight; a situational axe is not.
